He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Gary is football through and through, and he's much the same now as he was then.

"It's no surprise he's had so much success throughout his career, he's just a good manager."

When I was at Yeovil we always saw the bigger teams coming down as a chance to put on a decent show

Posh have struggled for form in recent weeks, but remain just three points off the League One play-off places.

Johnson's side are set to travel to Yeovil on Saturday should the recent freezing conditions abate.

And Davies - who spent time back with the Glovers last season - admits he is looking forward to returning to Huish Park.

"I spent two-and-half-a-years down there and we won League Two and reached the play-off final. I still know a lot of their fans," he said.

"I'd like to play on Saturday, but it's just another game really, another tough game."

Yeovil are currently second from bottom of the table with just four wins from 18 matches, having lost their last three league matches.

Davies added: "I've spoken to some of the lads and they feel they've been unlucky which I suppose is always the case when you're losing games.

"When I was there we always saw the bigger teams coming down as a chance to put on a decent show."
