Ferguson furious with appalling errors

Goalkeeper Joe Lewis was at fault for two of the goals as Bournemouth recovered to share the spoils and dash Posh's hopes of closing to within a point of the top two.

Ferguson dubbed all three conceded goals as `appalling`, saying: "It has to go down as the poorest performance since I returned to the club. I didn't enjoy a minute of that match.

"We were nervy and lacked composure which are things that surprise me given that chasing promotion is not a new experience for many of my players. That said, Bournemouth couldn't live with us early on but we gave away a bad goal to let them back into the game.

"And then we did exactly the same again. I still can't work out how their second goal ended up in the net and Joe has made an absolute howler right at the end.

"Criticising players in public is not my style, but the goals we conceded were nothing short of appalling and that is not something you can expect to get away with. All footballers make mistakes but you judge someone on how they deal with them and react to them."
