Fitness battle for Micah

Peterborough United captain Micah Hyde may be forced to miss the League Two clash with Torquay United because of a troublesome Achilles problem.

The 32-year-old former Watford and Burnley midfielder faces a late fitness test on the injury that he picked up against Accrington Stanley.

He missed the Easter Monday game with Mansfield Town and Posh boss Darren Ferguson admitted: "The hard grounds are killing Micah and we face another difficult surface at Torquay.

"I knew that if he played at Accrington he'd probably miss Mansfield, but Micah was desperate to play because he's a top professional who wants to be involved in everything.

"He'll probably want to play at Torquay, but I'll make that decision nearer kick-off.

"Micah is a key player who has done really well for me and his experience would be crucial at this stage of the season, but Gavin Strachan is a disciplined and intelligent enough professional to play in his position so I do have cover.

"If I had to make a decision now, I'd say Micah was very doubtful."
