Peterborough striker Dave Hibbert faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after dislocating his knee in Tuesday's FA Cup win over Stockport. The 24-year-old was stretchered off just 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 first round replay success at London Road.

"It was nasty, the lads knew straight away what had happened," Posh boss Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"That's a real unfortunate one. He's going to be out for some time."

Hibbert joined United from Shrewsbury Town in May but has made just 11 appearances for Johnson's side, scoring one goal.

His only start came in the 3-2 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat by Huddersfield.

It did not look good, stretchered off and taken straight to the medical room with the club doctor alongside him

"Poor lad, I don't know what black cat he ran over but it must have been a big one because he's been so unlucky," added Johnson.

"He's devastated and all the lads are trying to pick him up."

The club will assess the full extent of the injury before determining when Hibbert can begin rehabilitation.
