He told the club's official website: "We were just doing shooting practice in training and I twisted and landed awkwardly and now I've damaged the ligaments.
"The scan has shown a tear so I will have to have it operated on this week and I am looking at four to six weeks out.
"It has been a stop-start season for me but I had just got back in the team and this is very disappointing and it looks like my season is going to end on a sour note.
"I'd love to get back before the end of the season and play my part."
