McAuley Links Dismissed

Fry had revealed earlier this week that Posh were hoping to sign a defender on loan before next weekend's match at Bristol City but, despite newspaper reports suggesting otherwise, 29-year-old McAuley is not the unnamed player the club are interested in.

"He is the not the player we are chasing," Fry told the Evening Telegraph.

"His age and his wages would make him unsuitable."
