It is understood that Peterborough United have made a bid for the services of Norwich's Cody McDonald.
McDonald joined the Canaries in 2009 from non-league Dartford, but he spent all of last season on loan to Gillingham.He was a hit at the League Two side, scoring 25 goals in 41 league games, winning numerous personal accolades for his efforts.
However, Norwich boss Paul Lambert has decided that despite this, the 25-year-old will not feature in his plans any more and, although he will be denied Premier League football, Peterborough are willing to give the striker a chance in the Championship.League One side Sheffield Wednesday were thought to be interested, along with Posh's league rivals Coventry City, but it is though that Peterborough are the most likely to sign McDonald.Speaking to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, director of football at London Road Barry Fry spoke about potential signings before Wednesday's deadline. "We are after a striker who has been a long-term target of ours and we hope to have him here by Wednesday," said Fry in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph."We are also working on a loan deal for a Premier League midfielder."
