Southampton captain Dean Hammond should return to the starting line-up after fully recovering from a calf injury.
New signing Jonathan Forte will be in the squad, while midfielder Adam Lallana could be named on the bench after recovering from a knee injury.
Peterborough United assistant manager Kevin Russell told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If we can keep the ball and not keep giving it away in cheap areas then we won't be so susceptible on the counter attack.
"We're getting better and as we all know if you keep the football you can't score.
"We can't afford to chop and change because we haven't got enough players to do that. It's just a case of putting the work in on the training ground."
