All the goals came in a lively first half with Town striker Pablo Counago giving the visitors a 1-0 lead after only three minutes.
Ian Westlake doubled their lead on seventeen minutes but just a minute later Posh pulled a goal back when Callum Willock headed home from a Peter Kennedy free kick.
Barry Fry used his full quota of six substitutes at half-time but Posh, despite their best efforts, couldn't peg back the one goal deficit.
