The striker was handed just his third start for the club at Dagenham in midweek and repaid manager Darren Ferguson by scoring twice inside the opening eight minutes to secure a 2-0 win.
That means Lee Tomlin is likely to be on the bench again at the Galpharm Stadium, where a Posh win could see them leapfrog the Terriers into second spot.
Midfielder Lee Frecklington has had a hernia operation and will be sidelined for several more weeks, while striker Dave Hibbert is absent as he steps up his comeback from a dislocated knee suffered in November.
Posh signed Rushden & Diamonds goalkeeper Joe Day for an undisclosed fee this week but he is unable to play until next season.
