Blackpool brought a miserable run of six league games without a win to an end with a demolition of Barry Fry's struggling Posh.

A wonder goal from Martin Bullock was the highlight of a match which saw the visiting defence exposed time after time.

The breakthrough came for Blackpool after 17 minutes when a Richie Wellens corner was only half cleared and, with stand-in Peterborough keeper Dan Connor unable to claim it, the ball found its way to Simon Grayson, who made no mistake from close range.

Bullock's goal arrived just four minutes later when a flick-on by John Murphy gave him space to run at the Peterborough defence.

The former Barnsley man showed none of the injury problems which have effected him in recent weeks, to skip around the Posh back four and strike an unstoppable shot past the forlorn Connor to double the Seasiders' advantage.

Fry changed things around at half time with a treble substitution and a tactical switch to put on another forward, Francis Green.

However, Blackpool's defence was superbly marshalled by debutant Colin Hendry, who was ably assisted by fellow loan signing Leam Richardson.

A third came after 52 minutes when Posh wasted a free-kick deep in the Blackpool half and Richard Walker exchanged passes with the lively Bullock before slotting the ball past Connor.

Blackpool chief Steve McMahon hailed Hendry, who was given a standing ovation by the home fans when he was taken off ten minutes before time.

"Colin has been a crowd pleaser wherever he has played," said McMahon.

"That's because he gives 100 per cent, his performance inspired the other players even though he is not fully fit.

"Our defensive performance was solid and that gives players further forward more confidence and the chance to relax which helps improve us overall."
