League Two high-flyers Wycombe Wanderers stretched their unbeaten league run to sixteen games thanks to a fantastic comeback, recovering from 2-0 down at half time to draw 2-2 with two goals in the last 15 minutes.

After a fairly drab half-hour with chances few and far between, it was Danny Crow who opened the scoring for the visitors. An innocuous flick-on by strike partner, former Leicester hit-man Trevor Benjamin was seized on by Crow who sent a delicious finish past the groping Frank Talia in the Wycombe goal from 20 yards.

This breakthrough was no more than the Posh had deserved and they doubled their lead on 37 minutes, Benjamin this time punishing hesitant defending in the Wycombe area by pushing the ball past Talia after Adam Newton had crossed from the right. The hosts, desperate for a reply to gain a foothold in the game before half time had a couple of half chances but the visiting defence held firm.

Wycombe boss John Gorman made immediate changes and made two substitutions at half time giving a league debut to ex-Forest Green Rovers striker Charlie Griffin, and although this livened up the out of sorts League leaders, the visitors continued to make the better chances. Crow wasted a glorious chance on 67 minutes to seal the game, but he blazed over the bar when already clear of the languishing home defence.

The home side halved the deficit on 74 minutes through captain Roger Johnson scoring his fourth goal of the campaign. A corner from Danny Senda had been headed back by Mike Williamson and Johnson looped the header into the corner. Highly rated striker Nathan Tyson drilled a shot wide just a minute later with the Boro defence not knowing whether to stick or twist.

On 80 minutes it was 2-2 as Clint Easton, from 20 yards, smashed in a deflected shot past the diving Mark Tyler, to spark joyous scenes on the home terrace.
