Fergie - Two Points Dropped

Shaun Batt fired Posh into a 53rd minute lead after dashing into the box and arrowing a low drive past keeper Julian Speroni.

But Posh's lead lasted only 11 minutes when Alan Lee levelled for Palace after a Darren Ambrose corner had been headed into his path.

"It was a missed opportunity to get our first win and it's two points dropped," Ferguson said after the 1-1 draw at London Road on Monday evening.

"We've never gone three games without winning since I've been here so it's something new to handle now it's five."

Ferguson also admitted that he was finding it increasingly difficult to bring in some new players before the end of the transfer window which closes at 5pm on Tuesday.

"Everyone will be shouting and screaming about our start but I have enquired about two or three players this week who were all on over £10,000 a week and we can't compete with that," he added.

"Don't forget the size of this football club. We only get 8,000 fans so we are not a big club but we will compete at this level without a doubt."
