Ferie had expressed a desire to hold talks with Reading about their vacant managers job which has now been filled by former Watford boss Brendan Rodgers.

"I spent a few hours with Darren in my office in Spain on Wednesday discussing recent speculation and, of course, the future," MacAnthony said in a statement on the club's official website

"Darren would like me to make it clear on his behalf that he is perfectly happy at Peterborough and is looking forward to the season ahead.

"He has no interest in any other club and is 100 per cent focused on the coming season and the challenge of making us a Premier League club."
