"I can take positives from the game, some of our attacking play was outstanding," the Posh boss told Ferguson BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"When we went to three in the middle of the park we had magnificent movement, but we've lost another game.
"We started with Shaun Batt on the right and Boyd on the left, but maybe Boyd should have started up front.
"As soon as Boyd went up top he got us back in the game, he was outstanding, the best player on the pitch by miles."
